Good Morning! ☀️ A happy Sunday to you! Today I want to share one of my favorite lines from a movie. I love the movie Apollo 13. It is an incredible true story of how a routine task during a mission to the moon in 1970 resulted in a catastrophe. (I don’t want to give away details in case you want to watch it!)
One problem after another occurred, leaving the the astronauts floating in space and wondering how they were going to survive, let alone return to earth.
At a pivotal moment in their mission, Jim Lovell, the commander, looks at his crew and asks,
“Gentlemen, what are your intentions? I’d like to go home.”
He takes his role up as the leader by tasking his crew with making a decision, taking some assessments and then preparing for the journey home, regardless of the outcome. He didn’t know if they would make it but simply trusted and followed Mission Control, the team and his crew, those traveling along with him.
The amazing thing is, all the while as the crew struggled with one challenge after another, they put their complete faith and trust in the guys on the ground at Mission Control in Houston who were guiding them and also facing the same challenges one after another. Even the commander in Houston had to lean on and trust his team wholeheartedly – even if he didn’t like the answer. They were all flying blind with a myriad of problems they couldn’t even see but the mission was simple – solve the problems, work to get the guys home. Never give up.
If at any point these individuals or team intended to just give up because the situation seemed too overwhelming, too impossible, or too difficult because it had never been done before or because they didn’t have a quick and easy solution, there would have been a very different result. Instead, their intentions were to have a successful mission, no matter what because life was on the line.
I don’t know about you, but this is how I felt 2 years ago and my life was on the line. Facing pre-diabetes and a myriad of health issue with a very uncertain future, I needed to do something. I tell you this story because intentions are important! Intentions create goals that you can build a plan around. A plan can be formulated into simple adaptable steps. All of this is built on a deep reason why you need to do it.

Teamwork. Support. Problem solving. Intentions matter and it can do powerful things! Like bring people home from the moon, or maybe – just maybe, help you achieve the life you have been dreaming of living. 🌸🌸🌸
What are your intentions?
